Common Pet Lizards

Posted on March 13, 2010.
Common Pet LizardsCan you keep common lizards as pets? United Kingdom?

We found a common lizard in our garden after the dog, terrified. he put his tail and we were wondering if you can keep them as pets and what you need.

You can not keep this one as a pet is a wild animal! Buy one in a pet store that has been bred in captivity. If I found one I want to keep as a pet too, but not fair.

because it is wild, it will not last long in captivity it will most likely be stressed and die, then best thing to do is give your local vets and let them handle it.

you should really give it to the wild. but to keep a lizard like that you can use a sand incubator seed and a small lamp and a rock. Remember its a lizard if it needs to get water from its environment. put a few drops of water in the reservoir rock songs, which is fed cabbage cabbage and a variety of cheap waxworms. waxworms you can get any pet store that sells reptiles. waxworms pupate so that any waxworms that burrow into the sand of the fish and discard. lizards need to be cool to relax before eating, they will be slow, but once they are hot the buggers can move never leave the lid. Get a book on the ladybug lizards. Childs even a book is a valuable tool. I kept a common lizard for 3 months before he escaped, watch waxworm eat is amazing.

Many people probably keep these pets. Remember, they hibernate so if you do not keep him and let him go, do everything in his still warm enough for him to find a place to hibernate! I work with these little guys and they are so cute! Its amazing to see them eat. They eat insects that you can collect from the garden as long as you do insecticides, herbicides, etc. around you! Do not worry about the tail - it will grow back. Or you could simply try to observe them in your garden. Enjoy!
