HID headlight issue / problems? I have a 2001 Ford F150 and I recently got HID headlights and fog lights and im having some problems with them.
1) when I turn my lights on I lose my FM radio stations, but the CD and cassette player works very well. stations coming in static.
2) I've noticed that my high beam and low beam seem reversed. The kit I bought is very simple and easy to install .... his son in all modules.
3) I've only had for about a month and they already seem like they are dimmed. When I installed them they almost had a blue tint and were bright as hell .... but now the lights are not as clear and fog lights look almost like stock.
4) and my last problem is that when I turn my headlights still on their stop in about one minute.
Please note that this wasn't a cheap kit that I bought from Autozone or something. I ordered them from Future Vision HID and dropped to about 400 of them. I ballasts for each lamp and a relay for the haedlights. Any help on these issues would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Josh, troubleshooting is done by statistical probabilities, so we will move on.
1) On this issue, you use your lights ballasts for fluorescent lamps like, which may be the source of radio interference, radio "noise" filters will be installed on the current flow of 12 volts to your stereo.
2) On this issue, you may need to assume that the son was mislabeled, and share the low beam and high beam son.
3) On this issue, if all ground wiring of light, or any son to the ground ballast is common, I suppose the main ground wire has lost some connection.
The only other possibility is that all bulbs are in trouble or that all ballasts are failing, all in the same time, not very likely.
4) It is more difficult, except that if the soil is poor for ballast, it would cause overheating, which can cause a thermistor Kill Switch on power.
The other possibility would be the headlights relay with a bad ground or power supply is defective, or the previous problem with a thermistor.
Usually, the relay would work or not only, other symptoms, as you work with them, so no work, to indicate a problem elsewhere.
Heck, when you come with a problem, you come with a voucher.
Here are the answers to your questions:
1. It appears that your ballast is made of inferior materials and it is not properly shielded. In addition, your ballast seems to be more analog ballasts. newer digital ballasts would eliminate this problem.
2. I assume you're referring to the high / low lights. This can be easily fixed by reconnecting the pins. This occurs when manufacturers do not properly test their products before they are displayed on.
3. This is caused by impurities in the gas. bulbs with high quality pure gases can keep the same performance for years. To give you a guarantee of what to expect, the game I have in my car is over 3 years and the output is 97% of the original. In other words, it is as bright as the day I put them.
4. Sorry, I do not understand this question. Can you please clarify.

There are big differences in quality HID kits on the market. Unfortunately, there are many people who are just here to make a quick buck. This is why they use inferior materials to the kits. The most important part of the kit is the ballast. This is the heart of the system. It is also a very complex arrangement. Not only the performance of HID kit be affected by the by.
