General Liability Insurance ProvidersWhat is the difference between workers comp and liability insurance?

I have $ 2000000 aka general liability. commercial insurance on my business and I am now required to have $ 500K in workers insurance model on me because I'm the only one that services my contractor and HUD properties. What is the difference between the two? And then I get workers comp insurance through my current provider? If yes, how? My $ 2,000,000 in liability per event is $ 500 per w / year I turned 18. Workers Comp be more?

Thank you! And if you can not answer 1 of my Q, please do so. Any help is appreciated.

They are very different, and excludes workers comp image GL exhibitions, and exhibitions WC excludes GL.

GL covers you if someone sues you, you did something that caused the damage. WC covers your employees on a "no fault" basis, for injuries they receive in the course of their job - it pays medical expenses and lost wages.

You should ask your operator GL if they will give you a comp policy. It is based on the code and pay the class, and if you're the only employee, the payroll will be your actual payroll, or a minimum that varies by state and class code. Depending on what you do, the absolute minimum cost for a policy of workers' comp will probably be at least $ 750. But if you do concierge, it will start at about $ 1,700. Roofing, $ 2,500 or more.

Workers' compensation insurance is to pay the costs of employee injuries or work-related illness. You need only if you have employees.

Call your broker and ask.
