Group Dental Insurance PlanPosted on April 18, 2011.  Pre-Existing condition / diabetes group health and dental insurance? The last time I saw my doctor for my type 2 diabetes in the United States was in August 2003. I went abroad soon after, and did not return until recently (I did not have coverage during this time). I just got a job that offers group health insurance, my account of diabetes as pre-existing condition. (I am choosing a plan BCBS PPO), and they may impose exclusion period? If you have diabetes, you have had a "treatment" for the last 6 months, even if it was just diet to control your blood sugar. So yes, the insurance company considered that the pre-existing condition. Also, if you have any type of health problem, even if you do not receive treatment, it is still considered a pre-existing condition.
