Posted on March 13, 2010.
Husky Medical InsuranceAnyone familiar with the insurance laws in Connecticut?

I am pursued by a hospiatl in ct who sent samples of my blood tests will be performed at another hospital. hospital that has tested my blood does not take my insurance without first receiving authorization from my insurance company. when they received the bill, my insurance company declined cause it "They said that hospiatal not comply with the first obtaining permission and I am not in charge is due to an error hospital. A friend of my paralegal says I can not be held responsible regardless because I get the Husky A Insurance is insurance provided by the state to low state and oncome supposedly protects us from being sued for medical expenses but I can not find laws that can verify. $ 1500.00 is a lot for me and my family and I can not afford a lawyer to defend me. I received documents in the mail stating that the hospital is preparing to drag me to court. Can anyone give me some tips, PLEASE!

How the insurance company informing you that you are not liable due to an error in the hospital? If you were sent a letter, then I would take this letter and any other document that proves you have the information above.

In general, these applications are filed in Small Claims Court. You must file an answer:
13. How can I defend against a small claims case?

Submit a response before the response date listed on the notice of prosecution.
-If you disagree with the claim or the amount of money, check the box that says you do not agree in writing and explain briefly why you think you do not have the money.
-Attach documents to support your request. (Attach a copy ONLY) For example, receipts, letters, contracts or leases. Send copies sufficient for the court and the plaintiffs.
You can also file a motion to transfer to regular folder. See Section 24-21 practice book. "
