Laser Eye Surgery Insurance

Laser Eye Surgery InsuranceInsurance coverage does laser eye surgery?

Hello

I have a horrible vision problem, my doctor told me that the eyes 5 years ago that my vision problem would at least remain the same and not get worse. However, it has, I used to be able to get closer to a screen and see. But now, I see nothing, I could not take off my glasses today, and get my eyes literally infont the computer, and still not see.

I tried, I was considering an eye surgery, but if i woonder insurance covers it.

Please let me know.

I had PRK and LASIK my husband had in the last 2 months. Neither surgery was covered by insurance. We did go to a surgeon who gave us a discount because we had vision insurance through work, and a "life plan healthy discount" offered by our employers.

Now, if your vision problem is not corrected by glasses or contacts, and LASIK can not correct your vision.

If it is a condition that affects other parts of the eye (retina, cataract, glaucoma, optic nerve problems, diabetic retinopathy) that can be treated with a non-laser LASIK and then based on your medical insurance, you may be covered for procedures. Contact your benefit coordinator of this information.

Your question is rather broad, but in general, LASIK / PRK / Phakic IOL surgery is totally elective and not considered "medically necessary" and therefore not covered by insurance ... vision or medical.

However, if you have a process ocular degeneration, or disease where treatment is by using a laser, then protect your remaining vision, it may be considered medically necessary according to your policy.

I checked in this 4 years ago. Most insurance companies do not cover this because it is considered elective surgery. They pay for eyeglasses and exams instead.

Laser surgery is very strong today. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The prices for dental and Lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, LASIK, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in newspapers and magazines, on their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canada, United Kingdom and other international patients who are considering surgery abroad for low cost, dental care and surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can Checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of health care available in India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA / UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

It depends on the insurance. Call to find out.

rarely
you must request a "low vision eye center
as in Fullerton, California .. or a few large universities
and raise or know what is the cause, in the first place.
and see if they can not or should not Anting.

these operations do not work on all eyes or all of the problems

Most insurance does not cover what it is considered urgent, cosmetic surgery. Also, most optometrist / ophthalmologist want to be paid in advance before this procedure.
