Ohio Title Insurance

Posted on February 18, 2010.
Ohio Title InsuranceIn the state of Ohio, an insurance company says my car "totaled," do I obtain a rescue?

My car is repairable, but the insurance company wants a salvage title and I can "buy" my car from them. I want to keep my car, and I want to keep a clear title. The insurance company said it was a law that I get a title slavage. Help?

You have a choice. Tell the insurance company to take their money. Pay off the car yourself and then pay for the repairs yourself. Then you have the car and a clear title. The law clearly states that for them if the car has sustained damage exceeding 80% of the value of the vehicle that they can "Salvage" he said. When they do that the car can be re-titled with a salvage title so that all subsequent purchasers of this car knows that it was heavily damaged. However, you can search and discover the states where there are no requirements as rescue and go there to get the vehicle registered. Seems a bit farfetched but it depends on what the word means to you recovered.

I would call the Department of Transportation Ohio. Specifically, the titles office. Or visit their website. They will be your best source for securities they issue.

Yes if you buy the vehicle back
