Phcs Insurance

The insurance I have in my work (HCP) has verbally indicated that they do not cover weight loss EVERYTHING related procedures. I miss my doctor for a tour of the band procedure and I would like to see about making my own insurance to cover the cost. Suggestions?

Many group policies do not cover lap band and some individual policies do as well. However, individual policies are size and weight guidelines, and if you are overweight enough to have recommended the band will tour you outside of these guidelines and coverage will be reduced.

You can check with a local independent agent to be sure, but do not hold your breath. If you find a company that you accept and will include procedures band around, they will probably have a waiting period before they can cover.
