I need a recommendation for private health coverage in Australia please. I am single and turned 50 recently.
Although I had private health insurance for more than 10 years, I am finding it too difficult to find adequate shelter from another supplier.
Anyone in my situation that has found "good value" coverage with another provider of private health insurance?
Hav you tried iSelect?
This is a free site with comparisons of all insurers. Take some time to see what is available, then decide, then wait until your choice is a recruitment campaign, when they offer extras such as no waiting time or one month free. (This is usually onTV advertised, or you can visit this site again from time to time)

Choose one that gives you good benefits now, like dental, eyeglasses, etc. If you use these physiological products, you get most of your RIMES back every year. If you are healthy and have no family history of bad health, you can save with a lower cover hospital, which has an excess to pay if you go to the hospital. But for that, it would be good to have some savings to pay as you wouldnt work while you are in hospital.
At your age, insurance income replacement would be Sky High, you're better off investing money in a savings account (or even reducing your credit card, save for the interest and use the emergency).
