Public And Product Liability

I need to know urgently, my grade 10 Commerce annual review is tomorrow and apparently this is it, although we have never been taught in class ...

I am not a lawyer but I work in business since the 1960s and this subject has been covered in my secondary school of commerce, and I met In the life business.

Accountability means responsibility.
In accounting, this means that the company is financially.
Legally, this means that people have because of their Actis or omissions.

With considerable uncertainty, which could go wrong, as in an automobile accident, or accidents around our house, the responsibility is a major element of insurance.

The responsibility of the product is ... Suppose there is an accident that is caused by a defect in a product ... as faulty wiring ... or suppose a child puts a toy in the mouth and there is poison on what stands out as a lead-based paint ... look at all these recent recalls of food, toys because something is considered unsafe. Someone must be held responsible for this ... some company has approved the process by which the fault is detected, or the design was flawed, or misunderstood component materials, perhaps several companies.

Thus, product liability is ... you are involved in the manufacture and sale, the distribution of certain products ... that product had better be safe for people to use, or you will be responsible for but as you have contributed to it is not safe.

Liability is your responsibility for things you do but the products you make or distribute, which put the public at risk. For example, there was an accident because some plain product was shipped that was improperly packaged and labeled ... the shipping company has really knowing the contents, they never went through a pressurized container at high altitudes.

Suppose you own a home. It has a sidewalk in front, which is your responsibility to keep safe. In winter, the snow is, you dissipate, but the time keeps coming, and you clearly out intermittently ... so when it is due to be cleared again, a pedestrian slips and falls on your sidewalk, broke a leg or other injuries. You are responsible for their medical expenses because it was your sidewalk, they slipped and fell. You can not blame the weather that was an act of God. It was your responsibility to shovel the snow, sand, walking, whatever, to make it safe.

This is another example of public accountability.

You are liabile for public safety on your property.

If you're in a car accident and it happens to be your fault, you are responsible for all damages and injuries to others. That is why liability insurance is generally a prerequisite to owning a car, or having a driver's license.
