Song by John Denver country celebrates capturing the essence of the Shenandoah National Park. The song will transport you into an idyllic landscape where fresh air blows gently, the hills green meadows and respond to clear streams gurgle through spectacular mountains. The word "Shenandoah" is herself the daughter of a fairytale concoction and means "star", a fitting tribute to the beautiful state of Virginia.

The Shenandoah National Park is just 75 miles from the nation's capital, if you want to find this hard to believe once you are in the remote, hilly and wooded. 300 square miles of classic American panorama of peaks Blue Ridge Mountains and the valley below is quite easily one of the finest pieces of the Virginia landscape.

The Shenandoah is an exception among the national parks of America. It was not created to protect wildlife or. Instead, it was created as a living laboratory for observing how nature reclaims the land he has lost if given a chance. Much of the wild forests of the region have been destroyed before the park was created. Today, however, the forest has taken over 95% of the lost land.

The Shenandoah is famous for all the measures it provides. With its rich collection of streams, waterfalls, streams, hollows, valleys and spectacular scenery, it attracts people from around the world. The Skyline Drive Road is where most visitors congregate. However, for people with a spirit of Hardy strike on their own, there are 500 + trails to choose from, including the famous Appalachian Trail. The small paths can lead to a spectacular view or gushing waterfall, while the trails are longer and more complex into the heart of the desert.

Recreational fishing is permitted in the clear waters of mountain streams. Guided tours on horseback are allowed to fall. About 180 miles of trails are open to horses and ground smooth lines and easy to steep, narrow mountain roads, this challenge both horse and rider. Biking is another favorite activity with the bikers to be allowed along the beaten track on the Skyline Drive. However, cycling is not permitted on grassy areas.

For nature lovers, the Shenandoah holds a world never seen a rich fauna and flora. Thousands of living beings have their domicile in the fertile valleys. The combination of habitat caused by various degrees of elevation, latitude, rainfall and soil is simply incredible.

Shenandoah Park is perfect for camping. It has about 196,000 acres of wilderness just waiting to be explored. So what to do about back and explore the rocky peaks, cool mountain streams, hollows of dark rock and discover a world you've never seen before.
