TomlynPosted on April 20, 2011.  What happens if I accidentally washed my dog with flea and tick shampoo twice? I use Tomlyn Flea and tick shampoo. I washed my puppy (20 weeks) Friday morning and washed my friend told him Saturday night. it says on the bottle not to wash the animal within 7 days after use. What will happen to him? it will be allowed? it acts as usual. Give him a bath with regular dog shampoo. Chemicals will be washed away. It must be beautiful! :) im only 14 but have 2 dogs of my own, and have long since im no vet ... but I do not think anything bad will happen! if hes not showing any signs of illness or anything im sure HES will be OK. thats usually just what they recommend on the bottle because they do not want to know something bad will happen. but if you are still unsure of his heart veterinarian. but if he seems ok im sure he will be fine, just keep an eye on his behavior, appetite, and make sure it didn't irritate his skin, so just check to make sure the skin hes ok . That depends on what kind it might is.it a rash of small or be quite normal. When he said he did not wash the 7 days after use, it usually means not to give him a regular bath, wash it because the chemicals used to kill fleas and ticks. So no need to worry. It will be very good. flea shampoo strips the oils in their dogs skin so it can be a bit dry, but I do not know if it will actually hurt him. nothing will happen .... probly just lost a shampoo only costs 50 cents and 15 minutes of your time ...
