Vpi Pet Ins

Posted on February 26, 2010.
Vpi Pet InsHas anyone had experience with VPI insurance for pets?

I think to get pet insurance for my dogs just IPV in an emergency, but I'm wanting more information. I am especially interested to know if anyone has any experience with it, and if you liked (and why or why not). Any other information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Pet Insurance United States has a bad reputation. For too long society has only had a sub-standard product that people should behave in a way, but in fact acted in a completely different way. Consequently, many owners of pet insurance think it stinks and frankly I can not blame them.

But there are some companies that provide insurance pet new here and they tend to be better. I'll explain why.

VPI has built his insurance company around the idea of a schedule of benefits. For example, say your dog drinks rodenticide (rat poison). According to VPI, they will reimburse you up to $ 248 + $ 147 or $ 395, then you pay the $ 50 deduction and 10% of the invoice. In other words, a typical case of poisoning rodenticide that could cost you $ 2,000 or more at the veterinary clinic and VPI reimburses you for only ($ 395 - $ 50) * 0.9 = $ 319.50. No wonder that pet owners are not satisfied, they receive nothing in return.

No other insurance company for pets in the United States that I am aware of use a schedule of benefits. Your first challenge is then to avoid IPV unless you want a low gain.

The second trick dirty PET insurance companies play is the condition of "pre-existing" one. Let's say you insure your cat and he gets a stomach virus that requires medication and perhaps a few nights in hospital. It gets better.

Now fast forward to your second year with the insurance company pet and your cat is still a disease of the stomach, this time it is an inflammation or infection. You submit your application only to discover that the insurance company for pets because they claim it rejects "preexisting condition". This is obviously not what you expected, your vet swears black and blue as the current diseases of the stomach has nothing to do with last year!

The last thing they do is play long "run of play, so if they can not communicate with your cat pre-existing disease they call" run and not pay this way. How on earth they decide what is and is not hereditary, is beyond me. Be sure to ask them how they decide what is and is not hereditary or congenital, you have the right to know.

VPI does not cover congenital and hereditary at all. So if * they decide that the illness of your pet is hereditary, you're screwed. Does not seem fair, right?

But all is not lost. Not all insurance companies pet think that way. There are one or two enlightened companies who do work much better and they have designed their pet insurance to be and act more like the health insurance rights.

You can write me offline for more info. In the meantime check the link below to see what Complaints.com assured that others had to say about IPV.

VPI is the worst .. They do not care about your animals, they do not care about your dog book.My pocket was insured with them for 7 years .. I recently moved and lost my credit card and do not realize that the policy was suspended, and they now refuse to return my dog ... It is not profitable for them Report Abuse

No sorry, but I am in Australia. I have health insurance online pet plan covers up to 80% for accidents and disease (no exclusions for matters of race are subject to Tho). He has been a godsend, and I received thousands of $ $ from my dog has cancer. No excess either.

REME.
